Heartburn can feel a couple different ways. Mainly, it feels like your chest is burning, although it is not actually your heart. The feeling of acidy burning is actually coming from various gases (and sometimes liquids, ew) moving upwards from your stomach towards your asophogas, where they sit and fester and make all the area along the way feel uncomfortable.

It looks like a burning sensation in your chests, and it's most often caused by an acid regurgitation from the stomach into the esophagus. You might also feel some sickness, and even vomiting. Pain is also possible, and spasms which can be uncomfortable. It's not related to the heart, even though the name suggests that.

Heartburn feels like a very uncomfortable hot burning sensation in your throat and chest. It feels as though you swallowed a glass of acid and you can feel it burning and sizzling on the inside of your chest/throat. It feels like something is eroding away your throat, and you want quick relief!

When you are suffering from an attack of heartburn it basically feels like you could be having a heart attack but without experiencing any 'crushing' sensation. The pain with heartburn is usually felt up at the top of the chest. Often you can have an acid like taste in your mouth.

Acidic tasting burn coming up your esophagus. You may or may not feel the need to belch, sometimes you can feel what you consumed trying to work it's way back up. Chronic heartburn can be a medical condition such as Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, you may want to check it out.
