Crating is a term used for housing your dog in a confined area. Most people use metal cages or travel carriers. Crating helps the pup to understand where his place is when you are gone. Free rein of the house can be tempting when there is so much to explore. This is also a method of "time-out."

It means that when you are training your dog you buy a crate and put the dog in the crate when you can't be around the dog so your stuff doesn't get destroyed and he doesn't urinate and doesn't do his business in the house.
