What is the proper size of crates to get for a shiatsu?

I am going to crate train my dog.

Shih Tzu dogs can grow to be up to 16 pounds and 11" Tall. Dog crates should allow enough room for the dog to comfortably stand and turn around. You should also allow enough room for food and water bowls as well room to potty. At a minumum, I would suggest a medium size crate of 30" or longer.

Since a shih tzu is a small dog, buy a small crate. You may want to block off a portion of the crate and then make it gradually bigger.

For any dog, the minimum size that a crate can be is twice the length of the adult dog in the longer dimension and a few inches wider than the dog is long. For example, if your adult dog is 24 inches from nose to the base of the tail, the crate should be no smaller than 48"x28".
