Nothing. Blood does not turn blue when it has been deprived of oxygen although it may take on a darker tinge. The veins appear blue due to a trick of the light. Veins are thinner than the arteries that carry oxygen-rich blood and so the red fluid inside combined with the yellow-green of the skin makes the blood look blue.

Oxygen plays a role in making blood red. If there is no oxygen, then human blood turns blue. This is why people without oxygen look bluish.
