An eviction comes down to whether or not the rent was paid. If you have paid the rent since the notice was sent, then the response should be proof of payment in the form of copies, receipts, or other documentation. If you have not, then the response should contain your plans to pay or plans to vacate the premises.

You really should read the eviction notice and then check the applicable laws in the state you resident in, and also check with municipal requirements in your city. You should then contact a local attorney that specializes in these types of cases to find out exactly what to do in response.

What's more important is that you reply to the eviction notice. There should be a time frame on the notice telling you how long you have to respond to the court. If you are going to contest the eviction or seek more time you MUST file a response AT THE COURT before that time expires and you MUST show up.

I don't think you can, you should go to a lawyer and ask the lawyer they would know, what you can do about it.
