This varies and there appears to be no rule, but young deer are sometimes called 'Yearling'.
Young of larger deer tend to be called 'calf' and of smaller deer 'kid'.
A fawn is a baby deer and if they don't grow up to be full sized mature deer then they are still referred to as deer. Deer really don't have many classifications outside of Doe, fawn and buck.
