Wolves typically are pack animals and go for prey big enough to feed a pack (deer, caribou, etc. ). Unless food is very scarce, it is unlikely they will attack pets for food (still, don't leave them unsupervised). However, if you have livestock, wolves might be a concern.

Wolves have been known to eat small birds and rodents such as mice and moles. A wolves prefer larger animals such as goats, sheep, calves and deer.

Are you sure you have a Wolf? Coyotes look just like a Wolf but they are smaller. Both will go after small animals. On rare occasions they will attack larger animals like Cows or Horses. If they are sticking around a lot chances are that they probably sick.
