Do you stop eating when you are full, or do you like the feeling of being stuffed?

i heard this saying from Japan, that they stop eating when they are 80% full.

Tried stopping when full. Ate slowly, fork down, chewed every bite. After a while I knew I was no longer hungry and I felt good about it. Looked down at the remaining food and felt food-lust overtake me. That's when I really knew the idea was RIGHT. Full? Stop eating.

I don't like feeling stuffed, and overeating can lead to weight gain from the extra unnecessary amount of food. The more you stuff yourself, the more your stomach will expand to take in even more food, which of course will then be stored as fat.

I know this is bad, but I like feeling stuffed. I tried the 2/3 full thing but I just get hungrier and eat so much more!

I have recently changed my eating habits so that I stop eating even before I feel full. I've found that reason is a better judge of how much food I need than my stomach is.

It depends on what I am eating, and why. When I am stressed, I eat to relieve the stress, not to be full, so sometimes I will end up stuffed. Chocolate can trigger a stuffing episode. Otherwise I eat until I don't feel hungry or to finish the portion. I don't know how yo can be '80%' full.

i think the 80%-full idea is based on knowing how much you would need to eat to be full, but then stopping when you get to 80%. so, its not like you have some fuel-guage or something, its just a best guess based on past eating experiences.  add a comment

I try to stop eating before I am full to avoid the feeling of being stuffed. I heard that it takes about twenty minutes to fully digest your food. I have found that eating slowly helps because you don't overeat without realizing it.

I always eat until I am very full. I seem to get hungry very quickly. And if I did not eat so much at each sitting; I feel like I would be coming back to eat every two hours. And I've heard that that is the best way to do things, but it seems rather inefficient.
