Well i have left my pet rabbits lose in my ground. They feed on the grass and are really happy. All i give them is water. My ground has a lot of plants and I've seen them feeding on many of them.
Usually people feed pet rabbits specially made pellets from the pet store supplemented with fresh greens and timothy wheat. Wild rabbits mostly eat grass, small plants, and wild vegetables.
