You should know that by default, your wireless has a default password and user. It is important to add a password to this username and/or create a WEP key so as to secure your network. Wireless is relatively easy to break into, especially when you don't add a password.

Firstly, you need to know your Internet accession method. Normally, you use DSL and own a username and password via a modem to connect the Internet. Then you have to make a connection to D-Link router. You are required to configure the router by filling the username and password.

WEP, or wireless encryption protocol, don't ever forget it!. When you first set up and the screen pops open to allow you to chose a WEP key and password, make sure you have all your devices ready and pick one. With out this key anyone in range of your wireless can steal you band with and slow down your service.
