You need to find a school that has the CNA course and take the class. When you have finished the course they will give you the certification test. If you are already a CNA then you can go to a school and find where to take the test.

Contact the California state board of health and inquire. They are the ones who usually tell you whre to go to test or earn your CNA certification. You must be at least 16.

Certified Nursing Assistants are required to take a course. The shortest ones that I have found are six months long. You will need to take a state test and pass it and apply for your certificate. I am sure that there may be a way just to challenge the CNA exam if you are in nursing school.

You must attend an approved training course, which can last a few weeks up to a few months, depending on scheduling. Upon completion you will take a two-part certification exam that is one-half written and one-half practical. When you pass the test, you will be a licensed CNA in California.
