What do I do about this milk blister on my breast?

The first thing to do is take a hot shower let the moisture help unclog the duct. Also try to nurse on that side more frequently.

This is caused by the baby feeding excessively on that spot. Use the other breast until this one heals. Or you could get a breast guard, which is essentially a plastic breast cover for all but the nipple, though your child may not like this. You could also pump milk and give it in a bottle until you heal.

Treatment for the nipple blister includes using a hot compress ( not hot enough to burn nipple) and allow the heat to soak in, then remove compress and immediately place baby on the breast. The combination of the heat and the baby's vigorous sucking is enough to open the plug.

Milk blisters can be treated with epsom salt baths opens the milk duct and helps healing and should be done before breastfeeding. Sometimes, just breaking the skin, with your clean fingernail can help. Medicating it with grapefruit seed oil, olive oil, and vitamin E also are helpful.
