What could result in having idle problems in a Mitsubishi Diamante?

When I let my car idle it seems to stall and sputter.

This can be a number of problems. First check all filters: Air, Fuel, and Oil. Also make sure you check all fluids and be sure they're at proper levels. Also Vacuum lines can cause these problems. If no of these solve your problem, seek professional mechanic help.

Most cars have idleing scensors that provide the car with a certain amount of air flow. You may need to have the scensors checked and see if one of them are bad. This will cause ideling problems.

Sounds like the fuel injectors are getting dirty. Try getting a good fuel injector cleaner and run this with one tank of fuel to see if that solves the problem. Also you may need new spark plugs because worn out plugs will cause the engine to sputter and lose power.

the factory and controlled by the PCM, you can NOT change it or adjust it, also try a higher grade fuel and change your fuel filter and air filter

there are many problems in Mitsubishi Diamante. some of them are overheating,missfiring,lots of dirt,electrical problems,window fog,fuel intake and overall reduction in performance.
