What could be wrong if my John Deere STC38 stalls out and backfires?

First of all ceeck and make sure you have fresh gas. Replace filter and spark plug if that dont work check scencers under the seat for loose wire. Or contact your dealer

There could be a clog in the gas main. Possible the fuel injection would need to be cleaned out. Check your battery connections as mostly John Deere's have a habit of shorting out over time. The backfiring could be cause by just about anything. Stalling would be a result of something in the engine most likely.
