How do I adjust the PTO clutch on a John Deere?

I've lost my instruction manual and just need to know how to adjust the clutch. The model is a 3150.

To adjust the clutch, first set the clutch lever in the engaged position; then you are going to remove the pulley cover, next you need to tighten each of the three nuts a little bit at a time in a equal amount of tension. Now you can try clutch lever.

The pto clutch is engaged with a lever that moves a hydraulic valve. this valve routes oil to the pto clutch. hardly ever is there valve trouble. if the pto is slipping it will have to be split and new clutch disks put in.

Turn off engine. Remove clutch dust cover. Remove three cotter pins from castellated adjusting nuts. Tighten each of the nuts an equal amount and test clutch lever. It should engage and disengage with a snap. Test clutch by driving up a grade or pulling a load. Once adjusted replace cotter pins and dust cover.

Remove the dust cover over the clutch housing. Remove the cotter pins in the castellated nuts. Then tighten the nuts until the clutch lever is able to engage and disengage with a snap. Reinsert the cotter pins. Readjust later if necessary.
