What could be wrong if my A/C is working but the house is still hot?

Close your windows. Check if your doors are closed as well. Close your blinds to cool the room from the sun.

Check to see if the thermostat is working properly. Check to see if the freon levels are correct in your air conditioning source, such as a heat pump. Check to see if cool air is escaping windows, caulk them.

If the air conditioner is working but still not cooling the room, you might want to take a look at your windows. Certain types of windows are not energy efficient and will let most of the cool air out. If this is the case, they should be replaced.

if you house is still hot and your ac is going it is most likely because your insulation is bad in your house. you should check the walls for good insulation
