What could be causing no picture or sound on my TV?

There are a number of reasons for that, one would be that the cable is not plugged in or that the cable operator has problems with it's channels. Also, you can have the channel set on a different frequency and thus see nothing.

Have you made sure that all of the wires are plugged in properly? If they are, there may be a problem with the wire itself. Take it to your local electronics store so that they can actually see what the problem is.
