The Cosmos soccer team was a professional soccer team in the 1970's that played their games in New York City. They were located in NYC and drew big-name players such as Pele, the greatest player of all time. The team did not las for long in New York, and they eventually lost their players.

The team disbanded in the mid eighties after being active for over ten years. The team was from New York and had as its highliners in the form of famous world-class players near retirement such as Pele from Brazil and Franz Beckenbauer from Germany. Alas, lack of interest from American sports fans does not seem to hold soccer well.
