Unless it is completely non profit and all the proceeds go towards charity, then it doesn't qualify as 501c3. Usually just because ticket sales go towards the high school doesn't make it a non profit organization. Also, most soccer teams spend at least some of their money on trips or other fun things, which wouldn't be allowed for a 501c3.
