Make sure your hands are fully on the bed and not hanging off the mattress while you sleep. If you sleep on your hands, try to break that habit. The swelling is likely due to the circulation being restricted in some way.

If you often get too warm at night, your fingers could be swollen in the morning from being too warm. It could also be water retention that can be caused from multiple factots. Pregnancy, too much sodium, etc.

This is possibly due to water retention. Try not to eat salty foods late at night and see if this helps. Another possibility might be that you are laying on your hands and thus cutting off circulation.

Every person's hands and feet swell up at least a little bit during the overnight hours. By morning, they are back to the smallest they will get. As you do things all day, you stress the tissues very slightly, and this causes them to retain very small amounts of water. Unless they are swelling up huge, it's natural.

Fluid collecting in the joints is what the swelling is most likely. Also it can be caused by inflammatory disorders such as RA or Behcet's Syndrome. If the latter is the case it is a serious problem.

It's probably because of something you eat. Perhaps you too much salty foods such as chips and other processed foods. So I'd stop eating something salty right before bed, and if the problem continues I would see a doctor.

I believe it is the salty popcorn that I eat while watching Television. I also may be cutting the circulation while I'm sleeping. Who knows? I'll have to wake up when it happens & try to monitor the symptoms.
