Such swelling could be normal inflamation or an infection. Keep the wound clean, put neosporin on it, and watch it closely. If the swelling gets worse, see a doctor.

Yes, you should be concerned. Any swelling is cause for concern. You need to make sure the cut is clean and cover it will a bandage. Observe it and try to determine if it should have been stitched. It is too late for stitches now but if it should have been stitched, then you need to see a doctor.
