What causes elevated platelets and elevated RDW in the blood?

Both of these will be elevated due to hemolytic anemia. Red blood cells are destroyed too soon in the body and the bone marrow cannot compensate for the premature loss.

Eleved platelets and RDW are signs that something is wrong with your bone marrow. You make have a marrow infection (osteomylitis) or something more serious like leukemia. See your doctor.

There are lots of conditions and abnormalities that can be caused by elevated platelets and RDW in the blood. I would check with your doctor.
