Croce Benvento and Salvatore Calafato began La Stidda (The Star) in Sicily. It spread later to the provinces of Milano, Genova and Torino in Italy. During wars between Cosa Nostra families, some moved into La Stridda. Their symbol is a tattoo of a five pointed star.
