When storing photos or film in plastic containers you have to avoid PVC or Vinyl, as they can release components that can damage the pictures. Is a good idea to place the pictures in polypropylene or Mylar envelopes so they don't stick together.

If you want to store old photos in plastic containers, make sure to use a container that is air tight. This way you can keep dust from entering the container and causing harm to the photographs. make sure there is not any extra weight on the photographs that might bend them.
