Many forms of dwarfism can be passed through a person of normal height -- this is called a recessive gene and some forms do have partial expression affecting bone and other structures even though the child is of normal height. Consult a genetic counselor to find out if your child may have this issue.

If a child is normal sized but has dwarf parents, they still carry the gene. They probably won't pass the dwarfism onto their own children unless they procreate with another person with dwarfism.

Children with dwarfism have a normal sized torso and head but shorter than average arms and legs. They have normal intelligence but often get teased because of their looks. Most children born with the condition have normal sized parents. In earlier times, such people were seen in circuses as 'freaks' but most people now are more enlightened about it.

Well dwarfism can also be a result of hereditary. If one of your parents were short or grand parents then the child can have that.
