They originated in the garage of Don Lukehart Sr. in 1961. The first mobile camper was made by converting a Chevrolet Corvair into a mini camper. In 1971 the Concourse was designed, providing the public with the first one piece, fiberglass body motorhome, which carries the only lifetime guarantee.

Chinook has been manufacturing motorhomes for over 40 years. They make Class C, smaller, more affordable motorhomes than some of the other makers. They are also one of the oldest U.S. brand names of motorhomes and started as a family business. Chinook motorhomes have the highest resale value of any Class C motorhome.

Chinook Motorhomes are considered the sports cars of motorhomes; they are Class C motorhomes which are designed to be long term investments, but happen to have a very high resale value. There are 4 major categories of these homes: the Glacier, Destiny, Baja and Concourse models. Pricing is reasonable to a degree as these are high-end motorhomes.

I have a 1989 21' Chinook Concourse. My wife and I inherited this motorhome from our sons. It has a major water leak on the drivers side top corner of the windshield. In looking on the internet I heard of another just like mine. Is this a common Chinook situation?  add a comment
