I have a 78 lb. Australian Shepherd/Pit Mix. He's very handsome, smart, active, goofy, sweet, & people-oriented- likes lots of attention. We couldn't ask for a nicer dog.
All I can really say without interacting with the dog is it is probably going to be a big dog. Pit bulls are also known to be territorial and Aussies are full of energy. So I suggest that you take it for a lot of exercise or you will have a destroyed house.
All dogs temperaments, especially mixes, are impossible to accurately predict but an Australian Shepherd tends to "herd" things and a Pitbull may use control with very strong jaws.
I have a pitbull/aussie mix she is still young very mouthy likes to talk back..... also to the guy above me my FULL pitt is the most careful gentle dog ever i would trust her around kids more than my little dogs who nip
Any dog that is mixed with or full bred pit bull would never be considered a pet in my house. I have known many people who have had there pits turn on them, they can not be trusted.

always remember, any dog can turn on it's owner...if you raise your dog with gentleness but with a no nonsense approach you will have a wonderful dog....I now have an Aussie/pit mix...she is gentle, loving, trustworthy, friendly, loves people and small children. She doesn't like other dogs..we love her add a comment

I have a pit/aussie mix and she is fantastic. A few things to know, they tend to be standoffish with strangers and protective of the house-so don't take that for granted. However with a few good runs, she's a couch potato add a comment

Pitbulls are arguably the most loyal and trustworthy dog there is. A well trained pitbull will never turn on a good owner. It sounds like the owner turned on the pit from day one. sorry but its true. add a comment
Awesome dog, protective of the house and of their owners. They allow no nonsense from other dogs and will fight if another dog shows anything less than good manners. However with some good exercise and encouraging words--this will be the best dog ever

This last comment sure describes my Aussie/pit bull mix. He is a sweetheart and tolerates other dogs, but gets angry when another dog barks at him. He does not like bad manners. add a comment
