You can give him Tylenol or Motrin for the pain. You can also use a little bit of Orajel or something similar on the area that's causing pain. For food, I would encourage him to eat some popsicles or ice cream, as that will help the painful area too or to chew on a frozen washcloth.

Try giving him some children's tylenol as needed. Or, buy him teething toys to chew on to relieve pressure and distract him from the pain. Otherwise, there's not a whole lot you can do that isn't drastic. Teething is a normal part of growing up, and your child will be fine.

I would try to put some baby orjeal on the molars or gums that are bothering him. You can get it at grocery or department stores. If that doesn't help I would get him into the dentist just to check and make sure he is okay.

Children's tylenol or another pain reliever is necessary for the pain. Also, it may help to take oragel pills or rub some of the gel on the spot.
