Yes,you should immediately consult a dentist and stop further damage to the molar. The discoloration could be due to caries or certain medications taken during pregnancy. Sometimes the caries gets arrested and does not progress further but presents as a dark brown and hard area. If the teeth is not brushed properly tartar gets deposited on the tooth surface.

Yes you should be concerned that your baby's molar is discolored. Take your baby to a Pediatric Dentist as soon as possible to have the problem fixed so that there is no more damage.

I would contact a pediatric dentist and ask them about it. I have heard that it could mean the area is dead or dying. But I would check with a pediatric dentist to be 100% sure what is going on and to find out if there are treatments you can do or if this is normal.

If they have used an inhaler or breathing aid containing inhaled steroids, this can cause tooth discoloration. If not, there is the possibility of serious plaque build up or cavities. See a dentist for diagnosis.
