This may have to do with your wisdom teeth being fully grown. Even if they don't cause you pain, you should have them removed. You'll stop biting your tongue then. If it's not the wisdom teeth, you should see if you are having an allergic reaction that my be swelling your tongue.

The first thing to do is to ask yourself why you have this habit. It may be a coping mechanism. Find the source of the problem so that you can change harmful thought patterns which cause you to feel the need to bite your tongue. A professional counselor would be very helpful for you in this situation.

My little sister had this problem when she was smaller, the doctor recommended my parents buying a mouth guard so that it would prevent her from biting down. I believe she wore it for a month and a half before she broke out of the habit; the time frame a person has to wear it varies.
