How can I stop my black lab from biting?

You can try to train your black lab by yelling at him or putting him in time out whenever he bites, but your best bet is to take him to a dog trainer, possibly one that specializes in obedience, and let the trainer do the work for you. Trainers are very knowledgeable on dogs and will work well for you.

You can open his mouth and put your finger in the middle of his tongue and push down until he yelps and tell him no bite. You could give a chew toy and tell him or her good boy while he is doing the corrected behavior of chewing toys.
