This is very serious. You need to seek medical and professional help immediately. This can be a very dangerous situation.

You should take your teen to your doctor. Sometimes it is a chemical imbalance causing this desires and medication can help that. Sometimes they just need someone not personally involved to talk to, the doctor can recommend a therapist. Coming from a family with a history of depression, I truly recommend you take some action before it's too late.

If you think your family member of friend is in serious danger you should do an immediate intervention. There are twenty four hour hotlines you can call in your state for suicide prevention that can help a person. This sometimes involves removing the person from your home and putting them in an institution temporarily, however.

Although all teenagers are a bit moody, teen depression and suicide are real. This is an issue that is too big for a parent to tackle on her own. You have to get professional help. Your son needs counseling, and possibly medication, to address these issues. Do not wait to do this.
