Have a rummage sale, sell unwanted items on ebay or craigs list, work online (amazon turk and others), if there is a blood plasma donation center in your area you can make money for your time there, many churches and other organizations offer meals/food items, contact your local government for possible help with utilites, go to a temp agency

Apply for unemployment benefits and for food stamps. Next, take any job, even a job as a laborer. It is better to be employed and make some money, than nothing.

If you have a 401k or some other annuities, you can borrow money against it by claiming financial hardship or take all of your money out, but with tax penalty. If this isn't an option, try seeking employment through temporary job agencies. Eventhough the position you may be offered is temporary, they are pretty quick at finding people employment.

If I were to lose my job tomorrow, without a savings safety net, I would apply for unemployment compensation, which is available to me. Thankfully, I am blessed with family members that I can depend on for assistance in desperate times. I am not the type of person who would ask for a handout. I would take the initiative.

This is a common problem in todays economy. The best answer to is to focus all your energy in securing another job. Government handouts can get you buy, such as food stamps and other welfare programs, but to get back on your feet for good your need a steady income.
