What can i do if air leaks out of the barrel of a paintball gun?

Should I fix it or replace it?

You probably have a rubber gasket leaking inside the mechanism. If you have a skilled repair person available it can be fixed, but if not, replace it.

I would recommend trying to fix it rather than replacing the entire barrel. A simple patching up may both fix the leakage and prevent the need to buy an entirely new barrel. Some paintball gun barrels are very high quality and can be very expensive. For example, my Flatline barrel cost over $100.

JB weld is the tried and try method to fix the barrel. Its applied as a liquid and hardens to imitate steel. Its waterproof and handles pressure very well. Allow extra curing time.

In this economy, it seems to make more financial sense to fix things than repair them. Some duct tape or sealing glue ought to do the trick, and the cost will be far less than if you had gone out and bought a new one. It ought to work just as well, too. Happy paintballing!
