Be sure to use a shaving cream with lotion. This can reduce the appearance of razor bumps. If they do appear, soothe them by gently rubbing lotion on the affected area.

Shave your hair the way it's growing instead of against it. There are pads and creams that are supposed to prevent bumps.

The best cure for razor rash is prevention. Be sure to use a new, clean razor and some sort of skin protection, like shaving cream or creme rinse, every time you shave. A clean razor prevents bacteria from entering the hair follicle and causing inflammation. Also, shaving in the direction of the hair growth, instead of against it, can help.

When you shave your bikini area, make sure you soak a bit first and always shave in the direction that the hair grows in with a new razor. There are many products at your local drugstore for shaving that area that also help.
