To prevent constipation from happening at all, make sure the guinea pig has hay and other fiber in its everyday diet and it should be fine.

You should definitely take your pet to a vet for evaluation. There may be other problems that are more serious. To prevent constipation from happening at all, make sure the guinea pig has hay and other fiber in its everyday diet and it should be fine.

Start by making a special formula for it's bottle of water. Use the ratio 10/90 of Prune Juice and Water solution (10% of prune juice). Next add a little less than half a teaspoon of mineral oil (natural laxative 99 cents at any local grocery) to the bottle. Shake, and let pet drink for next 1-3 days.

Get him/her to eat some fruit and vegatables! Try apple peels and olive oil on lettuce. Comfort piggy by speaking softly. And if this doesn't work, take piggy to the vet!
