Tingling foot syndrome is best treated by targeting the specific cause of the tingling sensation. It may be of primary origin, meaning it is a result of local nerve damage or it may be caused by disease such as Diabetes mellitus.

Depending on severity, there are medications available. If the case is not severe, you might try changing the type of shoes you are wearing--choose types that offer good support. You could also try compression hose or socks that are meant to increase circulation.

Tarsal tunnel syndrome is where the tibial nerve - area with nerves, veins, and a major artery - is compressed. Treatment is includes medication to reduce inflammation and pain. Rest and physical therapy may also help. If not, cortisone shots and surgery to release the tibial nerve may be needed if conservative treatment is not sufficient.

The proper term for the symptoms you are experiencing is paresthesia. It usually indicates some sort of nerve dysfunction. There are literally dozens of potential causes, some innocuous, some quite serious. Treatment will depend on the cause. If the paresthesia persists or worsens you should see your doctor.
