What can I do about my dog's motion sickness?

If he's heakthy, give him over-the-counter Dramamine (Dimenhydrinate) at 2 to 4 mg per lb, 30-60 min. before the car ride, but be sure to phone your vet first. If car ride longer than 8 hours, repeat after 8 ours. Take breaks from the ride every 40 min. Good luck!!!

Make sure your dog is high enough so it can see out of the car window. Also make sure she stays alert and attention to what is going on outside of the car. That should take care of most of the symptoms.

Take it for several walks along the way, stopping on the side of the road for a few minutes or at a rest stop for fresh air.

The dog should be put in a dog crate when traveling. The dog will be less affected by the motion of the vehicle. Additionally, the dog will be held in one place.

If it is really bad contact your vet and they have medication they can give them for it now and it helps them relax so they won't get sick.

You know they are feeling motion sickness when they do not stand or just sit at the car and always prepare water for them to drink.
