pregnancy

Question by  mema14 (15)

I am eight weeks pregnant with my second child. I had morning sickness with the first, but never as bad as it is now. Any suggestions?

I can't eat anything, can't drink anything. I have my head in the toilet all the time. It's ridiculous!

It is very common for "morning sickness" (more like "all day sickness") to get worse with subsequent pregnancies. Research online for suggestions; only you can decide what will work for you. Talk to your doctor, too. You don't want to get into a weight loss mode while your pregnant.

Try sucking either some peppermints or ginger candies when nauseous. If you feel as though you are becoming dehydrated, contact your doctor, this could be hyperemesis.

This may surprise you, but the solution may lie in ancient Chinese medicine. The practice of acupuncture may markedly reduce the nausea and vomiting of morning sickness.

Try some medication called Diclectin, or a small dose of gravol so you are not so sleepy. If it's really bad after 12 weeks, ask your doctor for ondansetron. Nonmedication include diet sprite, ginger ale or tea. Eat before you get up. Never let your tummy be empty.

I've also read about zofran, but my gp said that I would only be able to get these if I go into hospital, bit she also said if I get any worse that's where I'm going to end up. I'm taking Maxallon 3 times a day as it is :(

Thanks for your feedback. I've tried crackers before getting out of bed, gingerale, lemonade, I need to be able to work so I went back to the doctors to ask for a stronger morning sickness tablet (I've already been taking Maxallon) but she said thats the strongest she can prescribe?
