This is a powdery mildew infection and can be controlled with a fungicide. Wet weather and hot temperatures can cause this. Remove infected branches and rake any debris up on ground. Make sure there is plenty of room for air to circulate throughout the tree and a good drainage system is provided.

You should get a pest spray and spray all over the fungus and then you have to use raid to have more of an effect on to the tree. Spray constantly and as much as you can on a daily basis to ensure that all of the fungus bacteria growth has stopped.

Well if you want to get rid of the fungus, you can apply some vinegar to the area. Let it sit for some time then you want to be able to scrape it off.

Look for a copper sulfate treatment to spray onto the tree. Also look for branches that crisscross over one another. If in the canopy of leaves there are two branches that cross and touch cut one of the branches away. Its kind of like pruning the tree so not only will the fungi diminish but the tree will be healthier.

Make a very strong solution of bio washing powder - put a handful in a jug, mix with warm water. Use freshly made. Pour into a garden hand spray. Spray lightly.
