The best solution for a bruising knot from an injury is to simply combine the tried and true method of applying cold compress at the onset of the injury and then obviously try and avoid any further damage to the injured area. Other than that about all you can do is wait.

The best thing for knots or bruises after an injury is Mugwort. I usually take about a teaspoon of Mugwort and put it inside a rag that I wet and heat up in the microwave for about 15 - 20 seconds. Once heated, I use the rag as a compress.

You will want to put ice on a bruise and elevate the injury a bit. People think that putting heat on things will help, but keeping it cool with ice packs is really the best option.

Leave it alone and let it heal. Make sure it doesn't look dark red, that could need a doctors attention.
