What can cause a toddler to have a rash around his eye?

A toddler can develop rashes around they eyes for several reasons. Mild causes can be dryness of the skin or contact dermatitis. More serious causes could be measles or chicken pox.

Toddlers touch many things and are exposed to many germs. They also love to touch their face,nose,mouth, and eyes. Chances are,your child was putting his hands somewhere where they did nto belong. Also if your child excessively rubs his eyes,this can cause reddness that looks like a rash.

Many things can contribute to a rash around the eyes. It may be a really advanced form of pink eye. It may be a rash from allergies such as pollen allergies. Has the toddler been exposed to poison Ivy?

A rash usually is the result of Conjunctavitus or "Pink Eye" infection. Conjunctavitus developes when eye makes contact with a small amount of fecal matter.
