The road to maturity has no shortcuts. An immature person can't be changed overnight. It is up to the person himself if he is ready to mature and he is willing to take responsibility for his actions. You just have to wait for the time when he is emotionally, mentally and spiritually ready.

If the person isn't someone you HAVE to deal with, such as a loved one, I highly suggest you ignore that person. If you have to deal with them just let them know that you are not going to tolerate their behavior. You can't really speed up the process. They have to see the light for themselves.

Human learning processes are reward driven. And if you want people to build ships, you must teach them to love the sea rather than telling them to build ships.

Children grow up according to internal timetables and can be enriched by exposure. Adults are not like children. Finding a better label and social support is a first start.
