The only way know how to transplant Mountain Laurel is to place the roots in soft rich soil about 2 inches in the ground. This plant likes partial shade and mild climates. Don't forget to water the sprout weekly it may require more water if so then every other day.

This hardy bush thrives almost everywhere, although it tends to go winter-dormant in colder climates. Place in a Baggie, with a few drops of water. Keep it moist - NOT WET - through winter. Come late March, early April, plant outdoors, gently pat down soil, and apply an all-purpose fertilizer. Water regularly. Will take a couple of seasons to bloom.

You need to be careful and quick, especially if you are traveling some great distances. Place the roots in fresh soil about two inches apart and between two and three inches in the soil. Give it partial shade and some water during transfer.
