First is a dry hacking cough, as if there is something caught in the throat,dry heaves,and gagging. It IS HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS and can lead to serious complications. If not better in 48hrs, take the dog back and DEMAND treatment, some vets will not agree to recognize this condition and their responsibility in treating it, I feel treatment should be FREE.

The most common symptom is a dry, hacking cough that is sometimes followed by retching. A watery nasal discharge may also be present.
