The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act states that schools must provide school bus transportation to and from school for children with disabilities and assistance transporting around school if required.

If you are considered special education with a valid IEP (Individual Education Plan) it must be documented what transportation would be appropriate. You are with the right to have special transportation door to door. Generally you are not allowed to ride the regular buses. Someone must be at each door to accept the child.
