Novocain will numb the area so watch for lip and toungue bites. Also, your child may be sleepy or tired for a few hours after the treatment.

Possible side effects of novacain are bluish lips and fingernails; breathing problems; chestpains; convulsions (sizures); dizziness;fatigue; fever; headache; irregular heartbeat; raised red swelling on the skin lips tongue or in throat; rapid heart rate; fatigue; loss of sexual function; paralysis of legs; persistent numbness; skin rash; fever.

whole sides of the face and tongue having no feeling, drooling, inability to talk clearly. and pins and needles feeling in the face as it wears off.

The important side effects caused by advocating novacin are,restlessness, numbness feeling before surgery, loss of feeling in skin and surrounding tissues,difficulty in breathing,drowsiness, dizziness, anxiety, excitaition, lightheadedness, nausea, vomitting,seizures, skin rashes,itching and irritation. Apart from these side effects slow and irregular heart beats could also be created in addition to tingling of face.

Novacaine will cause numbness to the mouth and sometimes the face depending on the number and location of the needles injecting the novacaine. Other side effects may include headaches, drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, tingling sensation, etc. Also need to be sure your child does not bite their lip/tongue while numb.
