When you have a hysterectomy, including your ovaries removed your hormones will be out of whack. You will be plunged into clinical menopause, no matter your age. Some of the side effects are depression, hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia and itchy skin. You can find a hormone specialist doctor to balance your hormones and the side effects will go.

A hysterectomy will definitely affect your estrogen levels. You may experience symptoms much like when a woman goes through menopause. However, you can take hormone supplements to ease side effects

Many determining factors can influence the side effects of a hysterectomy. If the ovaries are removed, you can expect symptoms equivalent to menopause. If they're not, you will experience hormone shifts similar to menstruation but without bleeding. Otherwise, the normal side effects associated with any major surgery will apply.

The biggest side effect of a hysterectomy is the inability to become pregnant and give birth. Without a uterus, there is no housing unit for the fetus.

A hysterectomy causes early menopause- and its side effects, such as hot flashes and mood swings- to occur. There is also risk of infection and possible damage to nearby organs.
