Aciphex (rabeprazole) may cause edema, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, headache, and insomnia in some patients. It is a proton pump inhibitor which helps to reduce acid reflux. Patients can try Prilosec and Prevacid first since they are less expensive and effective as Aciphex. Some serious side effects are osteoporosis-related and hip fracture incidence. However, they are rare.
The most common are: nausea, sore throat, headache, flatulance, and constipation. Less common side effects are were only experienced by two percent of the people who took the product.
