Aciphex (rabeprazole) may cause edema, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, headache, and insomnia in some patients. It is a proton pump inhibitor which helps to reduce acid reflux. Patients can try Prilosec and Prevacid first since they are less expensive and effective as Aciphex. Some serious side effects are osteoporosis-related and hip fracture incidence. However, they are rare.
