Question by  Connie (36)

What are the rules of etiquette for discussing politics and religion?

I will be attending a large party soon with a lot of powerful people.

Answer by  martin (522)

The usual rule is to avoid discussing either of these topics. If someone tries to start a conversation on either topic, change the subject immediately.

Generally speaking, aviod these topics unless you know that the other person agrees with whatever opinion you would express, unless you don't care if you are invited again.

It may be best to steer cleer of these subjects unless they bring them up. In that case, try to remain neutral in your responses.
